Empoli 3-1 Cagliari
Empoli are struggling in their first season in Serie A, especially offensively where they have yet to score in 3 games. In all fairness however, two of their three games have been against Udinese and Juventus where Empoli combined for 4 shots on goal. Last week against Parma they attempted 23 shots, but again only 3 on goal. That stat is a little misleading as Parma allow the most attempts on net in Serie A. Cagliari are poor travellers and last season they were 1-5-13 (w-d-l) on the road and this seasons team have lost their only game away from the island. In this one I expect Cagliari to look for 3 points, but nothing less than 1. They know that Empoli do not have a great attacking game and Cagliari allow an average of only 3 shots on net. Cagliari will try to attack, but not to hard in where they allow Empoli to counter and score. I think we might see a 1-1 draw or a 2-0 win.

Messina 0-0 Livorno
This years version of Messina is slightly different defensively than last season club. So far Messina have allowed Lazio and Cagliari to score 1 goal each, and allowed Fiorentina 2, but Livorno do not really scare anyone on the offensive side of the ball. Livorno have always been a team that likes to look for draws on the road trying to score 1 goal then playing a defensive style. So far this season Livorno have shutout Roma and Treviso while only allowing 1 goal to Lecce. This game too has all the makings of a 0-0, 1-1 or 1-0 game.

Palermo 1-0 Reggina
Palermo are continuing from where they left off last year in a winning fashion. Last week they beat Inter, Siena and won their UEFA cup game all in an 8 day span! This game however might just be a little trickier than they expect it to be. I think its going to be tough for them to get up for this one against a terrible Reggina team that has allowed 3 goals in all 3 of their games! Palermo netted 2 on the road against Siena on Sunday and 3 against Inter the week before, so one would assume against Reggina they would have their way offensively? Reggina have looked terrible on both sides of the ball. Defensively as mentioned they have allowed 9 goals in 3 games. Offensively, they have scored 3 in their 3 games. Reggina in this game will get back 3 starting midfielders that are a huge part of their game in Cozza, Tedesco and Puredes. Reggina will flood the midfield in this game going with 5 in the middle and only 1 forward. I think Reggina will concentrate on a defensive game while I see Palermo not having as easy a time as everyone thinks. Palermo should win, but I think it will be much close than most think.
